Programme 1: Secondary School Maths Camp ONLINE
For pupils moving from Year 6 into Year 7 in September.
A calm, confidence-building summer maths programme for children moving up to secondary school.
This is NOT about making children feel like they are “behind” before they even start. It should feel positive, reassuring and confidence led.
Who it is for
Children who are:
- moving to secondary school in September
- worried about maths feeling harder
- lacking confidence after Year 6
- needing a gentle refresh before Year 7
- capable but anxious
- needing maths explained calmly and clearly
Session plan: 4 one-hour sessions priced at £200 via zoom online, these are not available to take place in person
Session 1: Number Confidence
Place value, times tables, mental maths, negative numbers, rounding and estimation.
Session 2: Fractions, Decimals and Percentages
The big confidence topic. Make this visual, practical and calm.
Session 3: Algebra Without the Fear
Simple expressions, substitution, patterns and the idea that letters are just numbers we do not know yet.
Session 4: Problem Solving and Secondary School Readiness
Word problems, showing working, checking answers, maths confidence and how to approach tricky questions.
Resources
Each child will be given a workbook that they can either print off and complete on paper or complete online
